The 5th IWA–ASPIRE (International Water Association-Asia Pacific Regional Group) Conference and Exhibition was held in Daejeon, South Korea from September 8 to 11, 2013. Under the theme of "Smart water for future", the conference attracted more than 500 participants from 25 countries and participants gave oral and poster presentations. The slogan of conference, Smart Water for Future represents a metaphor for what water sector is urgently needed.
